The Kuusamo Nature Photo 2024 nature photography festival offers a diverse lineup of world-class photographers and nature enthusiasts who, in their images and presentations, address biodiversity, environmental protection, and the relationship between humans and nature. The event features both Finnish and international performers.
Presentations include powerful works representing Britta Jaschinski’s style of photojournalism, addressing illegal wildlife trade and environmental awareness. Erik Malm’s masterful images using the Intentional Camera Movement technique provide visual delight and contemplation on the relationship between movement and form. Felix Heintzenberg’s works, on the other hand, provide a fascinating insight into wildlife habitats and biodiversity.
Juha Suonpää’s versatile career in art and science offers profound reflections on environmental themes. His exhibition “Pohjolan Ilves” (Nordic Lynx) serves as the main exhibition of the nature photography festival. Kerttu Kotakorpi’s work observes the beauty and vulnerability of Finnish nature, sparking discussions on climate change and conservation. The collaboration between Ritva Kovalainen and Sanni Seppo forms a unique study of the Finnish forest and its significance in the relationship between humans and nature. Ilkka Halso’s photography combines traditional landscape photography with modern techniques, challenging viewers to see environmental protection with fresh eyes.
Welcome to enjoy these stunning presentations!
